Gramothhan is an Odisha based non-profit organization that works for quality education to build an empowered society by engaging with marginalized communities and public primary schools in vulnerable geographical areas. We are working in one of the backward regions of Odisha, i.e. the Sonepur district which has a population of 6.5 lakhs and the literacy rate is 65%. Despite challenges such as seasonal and distress migration which leads to an increase in child dropout rate, we committed ourselves to ensure that every child in Sonepur district receives quality education. We have varied projects focusing on transforming schools and enabling communities to bring change in the society. Community Learning Centers: In Sonepur district, we have successfully run six community centres through community support. These centres aim to provide a solid and holistic educational foundation to children from rural and tribal communities. Many of them are first-generation learners. In the learning centre we focus upon the integrated development of the children, and working on quality education and learning by developing their skills as well as being a mentor for them to complete their education successfully. Per centre cost 8000/- in a month and 64000/- per year. 30-35 children and one community youth will be benefited from your contribution. You can support. Learning kits in Schools: Learning kits help a child in learning at their own speed and style. you can provide a child with a learning kits comprising of worksheets, stories, toys and teaching support in schools and communities for 1000/- for a year.
